Picture yourself on the front porch of this charming country cabin in the late afternoon, watching the sun set behind rolling hills. Or stepping out on a fresh autumn morning to go canoeing or fishing on the Llano River just 900 paces away from the front door.

Our part of the Llano River is deep and wide and has private owners on both sides. Swimming, fishing, canoeing to the rapids are all possible here. We have a canoe and keowis (similar to kayak) available. You can also enjoy birdwatching, native plants, night sky gazing, or hiking around the property.

The cabin is privately located on our farm. It has two bedrooms, two baths, and a sleeping loft over the kitchen and will accommodate up to six persons. All of the furniture was hand built of mesquite wood. There is a full kitchen with dishes and cookware as well as a laundry room for your use. Groceries and other supplies are a ten-minute drive away, in the friendly small town of Junction. The cabin is equipped with central air-conditioning and heat, or you can open the windows to breathe Hill Country fresh air. No smoking in the cabin, no pets please, and children are welcome.

We are pleased to offer this quiet spot as a retreat from your everyday world.

Rates for 2 persons are: Weekend (Fri & Sat night, 2 night minimum) $279 per night. Weekdays (Sun - Thur) $199 per night. For each additional adult, up to 6 adults total, please add $39/night. Children 6 and under are free. There is a 6% hotel tax.

Directions from I-10

Heading toward Junction on IH-10, take Exit #456, marked Hwy 83/Hwy 377. Go north (toward Menard) on Hwy 83/377 about 1 mile. Turn right on Hwy 377 (toward London & Mason) and travel 3.7 miles. As you pass the green County Road 311 sign, continue on 377 to the second gate on the right (surrounded by a stick fence). This is the entrance to Cool River Cabin. “CRC’ and “3791” are lettered on the white reflector posts near the gate. Turn right through the gate and follow the gravel road about ½ mile. The cabin is at the bottom of the hill, beige with a silver metal roof and porches on two sides.

Directions from Menard

Head south toward Junction on Hwy 83. Just before you get into town, turn left onto Hwy 377 (toward London & Mason) and travel 3.7 miles.

Directions from London

Traveling south on Hwy 377, Native American Seed farm is approximately 13 miles (towards Junction) on the left hand side. We have three entrances from Hwy 377. The best landmarks to look for are the county roads. All three entrances are after CR 312 and before CR 311 on the south (left) side of the road. After you pass CR 312 start slowing down, after you round the bend look for a white fence with sign on right. Continue on Hwy 377 to second caliche driveway on left. Look for open gate surrounded by a cedar stick fence. "CRC" and "3791" are lettered on the white reflector posts near the gate. Turn left through the gate and follow the gravel road about 1/2 mile. The cabin is at the bottom of the hill, beige with a silver metal roof and porches on two sides.Make this your home during your stay!
